Matters needing attention before making EEG
1. Epilepsy patients in the first day of examination to wash their hair, not oil, wax or mousse hair care products. Check the day to get up early, eat a good meal, in addition to electroencephalogram has a serious impact on drugs, electroencephalogram machines generally do not need to stop medication.
2. After entering the video EEG monitoring ward, turn off the mobile phone, radio, interphone, wireless Internet and other wireless communication equipment to avoid interfering with EEG recording and affecting the quality of monitoring.
3. Video-EEG monitoring can record the video and audio data of the seizure process, so as to analyze the symptoms of the seizure process accurately. These are very important for localization diagnosis of epilepsy. Be sure to ask patients to move within the scope of video surveillance (including urination, urination, etc.); family members to avoid frequent and unnecessary activities within the scope of video surveillance, do not share a bed with the patient (especially over 3 years old), so as not to affect symptomatic analysis when the patient attacks; do not monitor the ward loud noise. Patients and their families are invited to help maintain a quiet and orderly monitoring environment.
4. Electrode wires and amplifiers are the key equipment in EEG monitoring. Improper protection will lead to interruption of monitoring signals, loss of EEG data, and even damage to equipment. During monitoring, patients must be careful to protect the above equipment, avoid pulling and bending the electrode wires, avoid loosening the scalp electrode by hand, do not move the amplifier. To protect patients, so no special needs, do not reduce the bedside guardrail, in order to avoid increasing unnecessary monitoring risk.
5. Ground wire equipment is arranged in the monitoring ward to avoid electrostatic accumulation and disturb the monitoring quality. However, the power supply at the head of the monitoring bed will disturb the normal operation of the ground wire, so the bedside power supply is not allowed without permission.
6. MeilunMonitoring the light is very important for the camera to collect signals. In order to obtain high-quality image data, we have adjusted the light in the monitoring ward. During the monitoring period, family members are not allowed to pull the curtain or change the bedsheet cover. The bedside display will be turned off during night sleep (will not affect the monitoring), and the bedside lamp will not be turned on, so as not to affect the normal work of the infrared camera.
7. MeilunIf the patient takes orally antiepileptic drugs, he must obey the instructions of the medical staff, do not reduce or stop the drugs by himself. Otherwise, he will change the EEG discharge and seizure mode, affect the judgment of the results of EEG, lead to inaccurate positioning, thus affecting the therapeutic effect; in addition, he may induce status epilepticus, or even cause respiratory cycle. Ring obstacles, life threatening.
8. MeilunAvoid eating nuts and gelatinous foods during the monitoring period, because if epileptic seizures occur during the eating process, the above-mentioned foods are susceptible to inhalation and obstruction of the respiratory tract, resulting in asphyxia, life-threatening. Avoid sharp instruments (such as knives, forks, etc.) to avoid accidental injuries during seizures.
9. During the monitoring period, sick clothes must be worn, and underwear should be cotton clothes. To avoid electrostatic interference monitoring results.
