Nursing Guidelines for Dynamic ECG Monitoring
Dynamic electrocardiogram monitor is also called portable electrocardiogram (EKG) monitor. This shows the electrical activity of your heart, and you do your daily activities. The monitor is a small battery-powered device that shows how fast your heart beats if it beats regularly.EEG machine
Dynamic electrocardiogram displays may indicate if you are at risk of another heart attack. The screen shows whether your heart gets enough oxygen, even if you have no symptoms. The screen shows how your heart responds to these events.
You have an abnormal ECG, and a dynamic ECG monitor may show that if a heart problem causes your symptoms. Symptoms include chest pain, dizziness, fainting, rapid heartbeat or shock, weakness and confusion. Over time, the monitor can record arrhythmias.EEG machine
You have a pacemaker. A pacemaker is a small device that controls your heart rate. This may cause your heart to beat slowly, faster, or regularly. Dynamic ECG monitors can be used to check if your pacemaker works properly. The monitor can also check if your pacemaker controls your heartbeat and you do your daily activities.
Holter pads are placed in certain areas of your chest. Three to eight pads can also be used. Your caregiver can bring electrodes to your skin to keep them in place. Wear loose clothes with your monitor, so you can move freely. The electrodes will be connected to the display. The monitor will be turned on and recorded for 24 to 48 hours continuously. For up to 7 days, you may need to use your monitor. The monitor puts a small bag in your pocket.
